The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, has advised traditional title holders to have a rethink in maintaining law and order, as panacea for peace, unity and tranquillity.

He gave the advice in Katsina on Saturday during the turbaning of the Deputy Governor, Faruq Jobe as the Sarkin Fulanin Jobe.

The emir also conferred the title of Lamidon Katsina on Jabiru Tsauri, the Chief of Staff to Governor Dikko Radda.

Also, the Member, House of Representatives, representing Musawa and Matazu Federal Constituency on the platform of APC, Abdullahi Aliyu, was turbaned as the Dujiman Katsina.

According to the emir, the absence of punishment in most criminal cases led to the current security situation in the country.

He, however, called on the residents to complement the efforts of the state government by assisting various committees set up to collect zakkat, peace and security as well as graveyard committees.

Mr Kabir-Usman added, “As leaders at all levels, you must have a rethink in maintaining the law and order, because absence of punishment leads to the current situation in the country. I urge you to please use your influence to assist people, especially those in need. This will attract more rewards and blessings from Allah in the hereafter. You have a lot to do in moving the state and the country forward, not only the government will be left with all the responsibilities. We must be giving zakkat to the needy, the disabled persons and the poor as God directed. Please do the best you can in bettering the lives of people.”

The Speaker, House of Representatives,Tajuddeen Abbas was represented by the Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, Mr Ado-Doguwa, on behalf of the speaker, commended the emir for giving the celebrants the opportunity to be part of the emirate council.

After the turbaning, the governor joined his chief of staff for a durbar at Tsauri town in the Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.
