The Katsina State government has declared Monday, April 11, as work-free day to enable workers to join other electorates to vote at the local government elections scheduled for that day.

Usman Isyaku, Permanent Secretary Administration, Office of the Head of Civil Service, made the declaration in a statement he issued in Katsina on Friday.

He urged workers to seize the opportunity to peacefully exercise their franchise by voting candidates of their choice.

The state’s Independent Electoral Commission fixed April 11 as the date for elections across the 34 local councils in the state.
