Karu LG boss inaugurates new leaders of Nasarawa tricycle riders association

The Chairman of Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, James Thomas, on Sunday inaugurated the newly elected officials of Tricycle Riders Association, Karu branch.

He also urged the new leadership of TRA to harmonise the activities of the union and work towards uniting all members.

The chairman, who commended the security agencies for ensuring a peaceful conduct of the election, tasked the new leaders to work towards members’ progress.

Mr Thomas admonished the new leaders to always fish out bad eggs among them, saying that most criminal activities in Karu have been attributed to tricycle riders in the area.

The new elected officials include, Abba Gana, as Chairman, Victor Nana, Vice Chairman and Abdullahi Gandu as secretary.

Others are Umar Hussaini Gurku, Financial Secretary, Emmanuel Rabo, Public Relations Officer and Jafaru Umar, Auditor General.

Responding, the new chairman of the association, Mr Gana also known as ‘Dan Bornu’ thanked the members and the authorities of the council, for the confidence reposed in them.

Mr Gana promised to bring sanity to the association while carrying out their business activities.

The TRA was operating under 11 different groups but all groups were dissolved by the authorities of the local government in 2023.
