Kano: Newly elected council chairs receive certificates of return

The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) on Sunday presented certificates of return to the chairmen-elect of the 44 local governments in the state, marking the conclusion of the electoral process.
KANSIEC chairman Sani Malumfashi thanked the security agencies, media, and traditional and religious leaders for their support throughout the exercise.
He said, ”We have provided a political platform that paved the way for the commission to conduct a free, fair and credible election.”
Sa’adatu Yushau-Tudunwada, the chairperson-elect for Tudun Wada Local Government, promised equitable and unbiased treatment to her constituents regardless of party affiliations.
Her colleague for Fagge Local Government, Salisu Masu, highlighted concerns about revenue shortages due to leakages, vowing to address the issue to ramp up internal revenue generation.
