Kano govt approves vacation dates for primary, secondary schools

The Kano government has approved Friday and Saturday as the commencement dates for the first-term vacation for all-day boarding and public, private primary and post-primary schools.
This was announced in a statement on Wednesday by the education ministry.
“Parents and guardians of pupils and students in boarding schools are advised to ensure their wards are conveyed home by the early hours of Saturday, 21st December 2024.
“Boarding school pupils and students are to resume on Sunday, 5th January 2025, while day students will resume on Monday, 6th January 2025,” said the ministry.
Education commissioner Ali Makoda urged parents and guardians to comply with the resumption dates.
The ministry warned that disciplinary action would be taken against students who fail to comply.
