Kano govt announces resumption dates for primary, secondary schools

The Kano State government has announced school resumption dates for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic session.
This is contained in a statement by Balarebe Kiru, the Ministry of Education’s spokesperson, on Friday.
According to him, public and private boarding schools will resume on April 6, while day schools will resume on April 7.
He said the Commissioner for Education, Ali Makoda, urged parents and guardians to take note of the resumption dates to ensure compliance.
Mr Makoda also emphasised that appropriate disciplinary actions would be taken against students or pupils who fail to comply with the resumption dates.
He advised students to avoid bringing prohibited items such as knives, razors and illicit drugs to school, urging them to remain law-abiding to succeed academically.
The commissioner also encouraged academic and non-academic staff to report to their schools for official duties.
He reiterated that the administration of Governor AAbba Yusuf was fully committed to improving access to quality education.
“The government is dedicated to creating a conducive learning environment that will enable students to excel in their academic endeavours.
“The government also wished students, pupils, and teachers a successful new term.
“The Ministry will conduct routine monitoring to ensure punctuality and efficiency among school staff,” he said.
