Kano governor warns officials against misconduct following commissioner’s resignation

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has warned public officials in the state against misconduct following transport commissioner Ibrahim Namadi’s resignation from his cabinet.
Mr Namadi’s resignation might not be unconnected with his alleged involvement in a suspected drug offender’s bail process.
The governor, who gave the warning while addressing the 30th Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday in Kano, emphasised his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance of corruption and drug-related offences.
He emphasised his government’s unwavering stance against drug abuse, trafficking, and social vices, which are threats to some youths in the state.
Mr Yusuf urged the cabinet members to uphold the highest standards of integrity, warning that misconduct would not be tolerated.
The governor stated that public officials engaging in misconduct would face the full weight of the law and advised those who could no longer uphold the administration’s values to voluntarily resign.
He reaffirmed his government’s mission to restore sanity, integrity, and progress in Kano, emphasising that this mandate would not be compromised.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to justice, accountability, and service to the people of Kano State.
