Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, has ordered that a 36-year-old farmer, Ezekiel Bishen, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a nine year old girl.

Mr Bishen is charged by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with defilement, contrary to Section 259 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law.

The NSCDC prosecutor, Marcus Audu, told the court that the matter was referred to the Corps’ office by the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Kafanchan on October 17.

Mr Audu said the defendant lured the girl into his house at Zonkwa and forced her to suck his manhood after which he had sexual intercourse with her.

He added that the accused threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone what transpired between them.

The presiding judge, Michael Bawa, however, did not take the defendant’s plea for lack of jurisdiction on the matter.

Mr Bawa directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

He adjourned the matter until November 22 for further mention.
