Kaduna: Customs rakes in N28.4 billion in revenue

The Nigeria Customs Service has reported raking in N28.4 billion in revenue from January to November this year from its Kaduna command.
This figure was disclosed in a statement on Friday.
The area comptroller, Tijjani Abe, in Kaduna, said the command set a new revenue milestone in November 2024 by generating over ₦4 billion in a single month for the first time in history.
He said the revenue generated during the period came from imports, excise duty, etc.
Mr Abe also highlighted the command’s efficient management of key facilities, including three excise factories Leaf Tobacco and Commodity Nigeria Limited, Nigerian Breweries Plc (Kakuri and Kudenda), Seven-Up Bottling Company and the Inland Dry Port in Kakuri, Kaduna.
He also attributed the command’s successes to strategic initiatives introduced by the comptroller-general of customs, Bashir Adeniyi, and his management team.
He also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of sister agencies, including the Nigerian Armed Forces, the police, the SSS, and other security operatives, in supporting the command’s operations.
Mr Abe reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining its momentum, enhancing revenue collection, and fostering a trade friendly environment within its jurisdiction.
The figure marks a significant leap from the ₦14.2 billion collected during the same period in 2023.
