Kaduna, Borno Abductions: It’s unacceptable if schoolchildren, IDPs are not rescued, says Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu on Friday condemned abductions in the internally displaced persons camp in Borno and Kaduna school, saying it is unacceptable for the victims not to be rescued.
“I have received briefings from security chiefs on the two incidents in Borno and Kaduna, and I am confident that the victims will be rescued,” Mr Tinubu said in a tweet on Friday, 24 hours after over 250 Kaduna schoolchildren were abducted.
“Nothing else is acceptable to me and the waiting family members of these abducted citizens. Justice will be decisively administered,” he added.
Sympathising with families of the abducted, Mr Tinubu said he has “directed security and intelligence agencies to immediately rescue the victims and ensure that justice is served against the perpetrators of these abominable acts.”
On Tuesday, Boko Haram insurgents raided an IDPs camp in Gambarou Ngala, Borno State, abducting over 100 persons.
Abducted citizens in Borno were yet to be rescued when another group of armed bandits raided LEA Schooll in Kuriga town, Chikun Local government of Kaduna, kidnapping over 250 schoolchildren and teachers.
The Kaduna school incident mirrors the abduction of over 280 girls from the Chibok community in Borno State in 2014.
