Kaduna APC leader busted with PVC bags

Security operatives have arrested Maryam Maman Alhaji, a key member of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Kaduna.
Peoples Gazette heard that Ms Alhaji was taken into custody on Friday night after operatives received a tip that she was bearing bags of permanent voter’s cards. The number of PVCs found with her was not immediately confirmed.
She was a leading organiser for the APC and coordinated several support groups from her Badarwa neighbourhood of Kaduna, where she was arrested by federal authorities that included anti-graft officers from the EFCC.
It was not immediately clear what she told authorities following her arrest, and a spokesman for the APC in Kaduna did not return a request seeking comments.
She has been facing questions from officials at the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC, Peoples Gazette learnt.
Her arrest comes as Nigerians are voting across the country in presidential and federal parliamentary elections, during which several politicians have been arrested for conveying voter cards or cash intended to bribe officers and voters.
