KADCHMA inaugurates enrolment booth, zonal offices, call centre

To improve healthcare delivery, the Kaduna Contributory Health Management Authority has inaugurated an enrollment booth, zonal offices and call centre.
The initiative was part of the activities organised to commemorate the 2024 Universal Health Coverage Day.
KADCHMA enrollment booth was inaugurated at the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi Market, while the call centre was domiciled at the authority’s office in Kaduna.
The zonal office was also inaugurated at the Zakari Isa Memorial Primary Health Care Centre for Zone two.
Speaking to journalists after the inauguration, health commissioner Umma Ahmed said the enrollment booth enabled the informal sector to register and access quality healthcare services without spending too much resources.
Ms Ahmed also said that the call centre was to decongest the workload in KADCHMA headquarters, where they intended to do the same in zones one and three.
She equally said the toll-free call centre was to enable clients from the formal and informal sectors to have access to make inquiries on the services they want from the facilities and make complaints.
Ms Ahmed said KADCHMA’s health insurance scheme was aimed at cushioning out-of-pocket expenditures in public and private health facilities amidst the soaring economy.
Ms Ahmed disclosed that registration into the KADCHMA’s health insurance for a family comprising a couple with four children under 18 years of age costs a minimum fee of N57,000 for a whole year. She said for an individual, it costs N10,050 to register for a whole year.
The commissioner lamented the high cost of medical services and other responsibilities of breadwinners.
KADCHMA director-general Abubakar Hassan said the enrollment booth would ease access for every resident, irrespective of their location.
