JUTH inaugurates N150 billion endowment fund committee

The Chief Medical Director, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Dr Pokop Bupwatda, has inaugurated the hospital’s N150 billion endowment fund committee.
The CMD said during the inauguration on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State, that when inaugurated, the fund would bridge the gap and reduce challenges confronting the hospital in terms of equipment, among others.
According to him, there is a need to invest in quality healthcare through the creation of world standard legacy projects that will enhance service delivery.
He said the inaugurated committee members would interface with UNIMARK Nigeria Limited, the consultant handling the endowment fund project, before its official launch to ensure it aligned with the fund’s terms of reference.
The Lead Consultant from UNIMARK Nigeria Limited, Dr Haruna Audu, said health issues were enormous and cannot be handled by the government alone.
Mr Audu added that the essence of the endowment fund was to enable JUTH to have a source of funding, aside government subvention.
The Chairman of the committee, Prof. Ishaya Pam, said that the fund was another avenue of getting funding for the institution.
He assured the CMD that all hands would be on deck for the actualisation of the N150 billion fund target.
