The Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed N8.4 million as the fare for the 2025 Hajj intending pilgrims from the state.

The confirmation is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the board’s public relations officer (PRO), Habibu Yusuf.

Mr Yusuf said the fare was set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

“Jigawa state intending pilgrims for the year 2025 Hajj are to pay N8, 457,685.59 million as announced by NAHCON.

“Intending pilgrims are expected to make their full payment by January 30 to enable the board remit all deposits to NAHCON on time,” Mr Yusuf said.

He also urged all intending pilgrims who had earlier made deposits with the board to pay their balance before the deadline.

Mr Yusuf warned that defaulters risk forfeiting their chances to embark on the journey to the Holy Land, as NAHCON had also fixed a deadline for remitting the Hajj fares.

The PRO added that registration was still ongoing at the board headquarters and in all 27 local government areas of the state.

According to him, the intending pilgrims are expected to obtain a customised bank teller at their respective local government registration centres before making payment.

Mr Yusuf also assured the intending pilgrims of the board’s commitment towards providing good services in order to attain an acceptable Hajj by all the pilgrims.

He added that NAHCON had allocated 1,518 Hajj seats to the state for the 2025 pilgrimage.
