Jigawa LG inaugurates wives of councillors as TB ambassadors

The wife of Guri Local Government chairman in Jigawa State, Zainan Attahiru, has inaugurated the wives of the 10 councillors in the area as tuberculosis ambassadors of their respective wards.
The council’s Information Officer, Fahad Muhammad, made this known in a statement.
Mrs Attahiru said that the exercise was facilitated by the office of the Jigawa State First Lady.
She explained that the ambassadors would be responsible for educating and mobilizing the public, particularly women, on the dangers associated with TB.
They are also to report any person with signs and symptoms of the disease to their ward level health facility.
Mrs Attahiru, who lauded the initiative by the office of Jigawa first lady, urged maximum support for positive results in the fight against TB in the state.
Highlight of the inauguration is presentation of hijab for distribution to women in the 10 wards, and Sallah package for the TB ambassadors and the wife of the vice chairman of the council.
