Israel says it again intercepted missile from Yemen

Israel said it shot down a projectile headed from Yemen toward Israel and that warning sounds went off in central Israel due to possible falling debris from the interception.
The Israeli army said on Tuesday that it shot down the projectile outside the country’s borders.
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, which have been firing missiles at Israel since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, had no initial comment on the incident.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced tough military strikes against the Islamist Houthis on Sunday due to the continued attacks by the militia.
A rocket from Yemen hit the coastal city of Tel Aviv late on Saturday, causing minor injuries to 16 people.
The Houthis have said their attacks, which deploy rockets and drones in the Red Sea, are in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and they won’t stop until that war ends. Israel, the United States, and their allies have repeatedly targeted Houthi positions in Yemen.
The conflict began when the Palestinian Islamist Hamas and other militant groups invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 and taking some 250 hostage.
