Israel confirms release of all remaining hostages with Hamas
Israel has confirmed the release of an additional 13 hostages on Monday, adding that no more living hostages are in Hamas’ captivity.
“It’s official: There are no more living Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity,” Israel Defence Forces announced in a post on social media.
The hostages released were identified as Elkana Bonvot, Rom Braslavski, Nimrod Cohen, Ariel Cunio, David Cunio, Evyatar David, Maxim Herkin, Eitan Horn, Segev Kalfon, Bar Kupershtein, Yosef Haim Ohana, Avinatan Or, and Matan Zangauker.
This brings the total number of hostages released in this phase of the ceasefire brokered by President Donald Trump to 20.
Earlier on Monday, the first seven hostages, Matan Angrest, Gali and Ziv Berman, Alon Ohel, Eitan Mor, Omri Miran, and Guy Gilboa Dalal, were released in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump arrived in Israel on Monday to meet with families of hostages and address lawmakers in the Knesset before travelling to Egypt for a summit on Gaza.
Mr Trump was received at Ben Gurion International Airport by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The 20 hostages were released after 738 days in captivity, since they were abducted and held hostage by Hamas during the bloody October 7, 2023, that left about 1200 dead and 251 people abducted.
