INEC REC who illegally declared Binani elected arrested by police

Hudu Yunusa-Ari, the suspended REC for Adamawa State, has been detained by the police on Tuesday.
According to a statement made by the police spokesperson on Tuesday, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Mr Yunusa-Ari is currently being interrogated by police to find out the reasons for his alleged unlawful acts during the supplementary elections in Adamawa State.
“In addition, other officials and individuals culpable in the saga are being interrogated by the team,” Mr Adejobi said.
He revealed that the Police Election Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Team in Abuja have detained Yunusa-Ari.
Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police, has made it plain, according to Mr Adejobi, that any person involved or accused in the case will be detained and subjected to an investigation in accordance with the law.
“The Inspector-General of Police has assured of the commitment of the Force to ensuring that justice is served in this case and that all guilty parties are brought to justice,” Mr Adejobi said.
The rogue REC had announced Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Adamawa election, a declaration that was eventually voided by INEC.
