Imo road crash claimed lives of eight family members: Police

The police in Imo State said eight members of a family died in an auto crash at the Amanwozuzu junction in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ikeduru LGA, Lucky Ahiole, confirmed the development to journalists in Owerri on Friday.
Mr Ahiole said that the accident which occurred at about 3.00p.m on Friday resulted in the death of the eight family members in a Sienna car carrying them.
He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck carrying rods, resulting in the death of the victims.
He stated, “Eight people died and we have taken them to a morgue. We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies.’’
