To boost Osun’s internally generated revenue, governor-elect Ademola Adeleke says his administration will invite Zimbabweans to invest in the state agriculture sector.

“To generate IGR, we will invest in agriculture. It is going to be our priority because we have fertile land in Osun State.

“Anything can grow in Osun State, even lemon. Lemon can grow here in Nigeria. You know that Zimbabweans are good at farming. We will invite them to come invest here.

“So agriculture is going to be one of our agenda to improve our economy,” Mr Adeleke said.

He disclosed this in an interview with Channels TV on Monday, a day after he was declared winner of the July 16 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Mr Adeleke emerged winner of Osun’s governorship election, defeating incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The governor-elect polled 403,371 votes to unseat Mr Oyetola who scored 375,027 votes.
