Ikhana discharged, remains under close medical observation

Nigeria’s former Super Eagles international, Kadiri Ikhana, has been discharged from Irrua Specialist Hospital, Edo. Harrison Jalla, chairman of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria task force, confirmed this in Lagos on Saturday.
He, however, remains under close and strict medical observation.
This development follows weeks of intensive treatment at the hospital, where Ikhana was admitted for an undisclosed illness. Doctors said his condition was being closely monitored.
Mr Jalla expressed deep appreciation to the many Nigerians who called, visited, or sent messages of goodwill to Mr Ikhana and his family during this difficult time.
He specifically praised the unwavering support of Mr Ikhana’s three sons, his sister, Austin Braimoh, and veteran football icon, Segun Odegbami.
According to Mr Jalla, these individuals played crucial roles in ensuring Mr Ikhana received timely care and constant emotional support throughout his hospital stay.
He also commended Adokie Amiesimaka, the Edo government, and other well-meaning Nigerians who have stayed in touch and offered help.
Mr Jalla stated that their efforts not only sustained Mr Ikhana but also inspired unity within the football community in support of one of its legends.
He assured the public that relevant authorities will continue to receive updates on Mr Ikhana’s health and the next recommended steps in his recovery. He further urged Nigerians to keep praying for the full recovery of the celebrated coach, who once led Enyimba FC to continental glory.
