Ibadan man jailed for stealing chicks

The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Wednesday sentenced a 23-year-old man, Dare Alamu, to nine months imprisonment for stealing chicks worth N380,000.
The court’s president, Oluwabusayo Osho, sentenced Mr Alamu to a one-count stealing charge after pleading guilty.
Ms Osho sentenced Mr Alamu without an option of fine and held that he should be kept in the Agodi Correctional facility in Ibadan.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the convict committed the offences four times in August and early September at Akufo Farm Settlement, Ologuneru, Ido Road, Ibadan.
Mr Adegbite said the convict, a security guard at the farm settlement but later laid off, stole the 84 chicks worth N380,000, belonging to Tolulope Ajiboye.
