‘I want democracy’, Tinubu damns consensus talks

Presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu has pushed back talks of consensus in picking the flag bearer for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I want democracy; I am voting for democracy, One man, one vote,” Mr Tinubu said in response to questions about consensus arrangements while interacting with party delegates in Taraba on Sunday.
The former Lagos governor said his “chances of winning the ticket are incredibly high” if a democratic process was followed due to his high political pedigree.
“I am very confident,” he stressed. “I am sure I can, and I will win it.”
Scores of top contenders including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige, Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello; Ebonyi Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State among others are in the race to win the coveted APC ticket.
