Harvesters’ Pastor Bolaji Idowu’s case still under investigation: Police

The Nigeria Police Force has said founder of Harvesters International Christian Centre, Bolaji Idowu, is being investigated by the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja.
The NPF spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this to Peoples Gazette on Wednesday, following the cleric’s release from the custody of the FCID on Tuesday.
Responding to The Gazette’s inquiry about Mr Idowu’s arrest and subsequent release, Mr Adejobi said, “Yes. He’s being interrogated for his involvement in a case under investigation at the FCID, Abuja.”
Mr Adejobi however didn’t give further details about the circumstances that led to his arrest and release.
The “Next-Level Prayer Conference” pastor was said to have been arrested and interrogated earlier in the day over his alleged money laundering and real estate fraud to the tune of N1.5 billion.
But speaking during his “Next Level Prayers” session on Wednesday, after his release, Mr Bolaji denied involvement in the alleged fraud, insisting that he didn’t own any property in the country apart from the one he inherited from his parents.
He said, “I do not have any property in Nigeria apart from the one bequeathed to me by my late parents. I am not in the business of buying or selling property. Someone said I received billions into my account. My account is public; anyone can check if I have ever received such mounts. I did not.’’
