Haaland on fire as Manchester City burn down Forest

Erling Haaland scored a second hattrick in four days to help Manchester City to a 6-0 victory at home to newly promoted Nottingham Forest.
City dominated the opening proceedings and got rewards for the constant pressure just before the 15-minute mark, Phil Foden lofting a teasing ball onto Erling to stab home for his 7th goal of the season.
Foden and Haaland combined well again for City’s second goal, the Norwegian tapping into an empty net before completing a perfect hattrick with his head after John Stone had nodded the ball to him across the face of the goal.
In the second half, Bernardo Silva found Cancelo on the left, who hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner to send the Etihad into a frenzy. Less than 15 minutes later, Julian Alvarez opened his city account in the Premier League after being played through by Riyad Mahrez before completing the rout with three minutes left, hitting a thunderbolt into the roof of Dean Henderson’s goal.
Haaland has now scored more goals in the first five games of his Premier League career, the least number of games any player has ever needed to hit that figure.
