Haaland, Foden fire Manchester City to derby glory against Manchester United

In a thrilling Manchester derby, Manchester City rallied from behind to clinch their sixth victory in the last seven encounters against Manchester United, maintaining the chase on Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Despite United’s recent struggles at the Etihad, they took the lead with Marcus Rashford’s impressive first-time strike, countering City’s early pressure.
As halftime approached, City’s patience nearly paid off, but Erling Haaland uncharacteristically missed a golden opportunity. After the break, City levelled the contest with Foden’s powerful strike.
With an hour played, City maintained their dominance with Foden, who netted a crucial hat-trick against United last season, securing the lead with a clinical finish assisted by substitute Julian Alvarez. Haaland sealed the victory with a third goal in stoppage time.
Man City remain undefeated at home since November 2022, narrowing Liverpool’s lead to just one point. In contrast, United’s six-game away winning streak ends, leaving them in sixth place.
