Gunmen storm Ogun, kidnap Chinese expatriates

Suspected gunmen kidnapped two Chinese expatriates along Onigbedu Road in Ogun on Sunday.
The Ogun police command’s spokesman, Odutola Omolola, confirmed the abduction of the Chinese to Peoples Gazette on Monday.
“Two Chinese nationals were abducted yesterday. Effort is on to apprehend the suspects,” the police officer told The Gazette.
Eons Intelligence, a media outlet focused on security matters, had earlier reported that the expatriates Chen Wenguang and Lian Ding were abducted by gunmen “around Kemta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road in Ogun State.”
“The available information indicates that the duo were kidnapped at about 1345hrs on 11th August 2024 after they had left Good One Carton Company to visit their friends,” it stated on X.
Eons disclosed that the kidnappers had contacted the company to demand ransom to secure the release of the kidnapped Chinese.
“Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the situation to arrest the kidnappers and save the victims unhurt,” it said.
