Governor’s Cup: Pankshin FC defeat Jos South FC to book semi-final slot

Pankshin Football Club defeated Jos South FC 1-0 on Wednesday to qualify for the semi-final of the ongoing Plateau State Governor’s Cup.
The Jos Zaria Road Stadium in Jos hosted the quarter-final encounter.
Milaham Kabiru scored the only goal in the 52nd minute to secure Pankshin FC’s victory.
Kabiru’s goal came after sustained pressure from Pankshin FC, which dominated possession in the second half.
Jos South FC’s efforts to level the score proved unsuccessful as the Pankshin defence held firm until the final whistle.
Markus Davou of Jos South FC received a yellow card in the 50th minute for unsporting behaviour, while his teammate, Godwin Inusa, was booked in the 80th minute for a rough tackle.
Speaking after the match, Pankshin FC captain Tanimu Inusa commended his teammates for their resilience and tactical discipline.
He said the team was determined to win the trophy.
The Jos South FC captain congratulated Pankshin FC on the victory, attributing his team’s defeat to missed scoring opportunities.
With the win, Pankshin FC will face Riyom FC in one semi-final tie, while Jos East FC will take on Shendam FC in the other.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for Friday at the same venue.
