Governor Sule vows to smoke out armed bandits in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa government has called for calm and vowed decisive action against emerging security threats after recent attacks in areas like Keana and Lafia.
This was disclosed in a statement by Peter Ahemba, spokesman for Governor Abdullahi Sule, on Sunday.
The government stated that it was aware of the gradual infiltration of undesirable elements into Nasarawa, thereby posing a security threat to residents.
“We wish to stress that the state government will not allow those enemies of peace to succeed in their evil acts against the peace-loving citizens. Efforts would not be spared to sustain the hard-earned relative peace achieved by the present administration since its inception in 2019.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the recent midnight attack on residents of Sarkin Noma community in Keana by yet-to-be-identified gunmen and other similar incidents in the area.
“Government has since directed security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay,” the statement explained.
He further assured the residents that the government was working closely with security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to implement the latest security measures aimed at addressing this type of situation.
“We therefore call on citizens to assist security agencies with useful information that would lead to the arrest of criminals in all parts of the state,” the government added.
The Nasarawa government assured the public that it was doing everything possible to ensure the safety and security of lives and property.
The government appealed to members of the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities and to cooperate fully with security agencies to prevent and combat crime.
