Governor Sani inaugurates 12 roads in Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has inaugurated 12 newly constructed asphalt roads within the Kaduna metropolis.
The inauguration on Christmas Eve came 10 months after the projects were launched in February 2024.
Speaking at the event on Tuesday, the governor highlighted the transformative impact of the completed roads, saying: “These roads will enhance connectivity and accessibility for residents, farmers, business owners, and other road users in Kaduna and its environs.”
He noted that the infrastructure would reduce travel time, improve security, boost trade and commerce, and foster social interaction.
The governor described the project as a symbol of progress and the collective aspirations of the community.
He urged residents, community leaders, and local government officials to take ownership of the roads by ensuring their maintenance and optimal use.
“These roads are not just for transportation; they are conduits for economic growth, social interaction, and community development,” Mr Sani observed.
The roads include Garba Ja Abdulkadir Road, Bissau Road, Unguwan Muazu Township Roads, Water Intake Road off Yakowa Road, Yakubu Gowon Residential Layout roads, and Kawo Layout roads off Yan Awaki Road.
Other roads include the State House road network, the Stadium Roundabout to Command Junction Road, the Residential Layout off Gobarau Road, and the Residential Layout off Kinshasha Road, Sultan-Surame Road, and Ohinoyi Road.
Similarly, Mr Sani announced plans to inaugurate 12 additional roads in the second quarter of 2025, including the 5.525km asphalt road from Airport Road to Tudun Biri community.
He further said his administration had launched the construction of 70 roads spanning 770 kilometres across Kaduna’s three senatorial districts.
“While several projects have been completed, others are progressing steadily towards completion,” he said.
The governor reiterated his commitment to infrastructure development, which will drive economic growth and improve citizens’ quality of life.
