Governor Oyebanji’s wife advises women to aspire to succeed, lead

The wife of Ekiti governor, Olayemi Oyebanji, has advised women to take advantage of the opportunities created by the present government to thrive, succeed and lead in their spheres of influence.
Mrs Oyebanji gave the advice on Saturday during her meetings with women in Ado and Ekiti West local government areas as part of activities during her visits to the 16 LGAs in the state.
She assured that the well-being of women would continue to be her priority and promised to advocate for better policies and programmes that target widows, youths and women.
Mrs Oyebanji said her goal was to foster economic independence and reduce poverty, particularly among women.
She lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his transformative, impactful and women-oriented programmes and policies in the first two years of his administration.
The governor’s wife said her husband’s commitment to women’s empowerment had made Ekiti the most gender-friendly state in Nigeria.
According to her, Ekiti can boast of the highest number of female representation in government in the country.
She said the governor’s success in promoting gender equality proved that effective governance and sustainable development were key factors driving people’s acceptance.
In her remarks, the deputy governor, Monisade Afuye, praised the governor for his numerous interventions aimed at empowering women economically, socially, and politically.
