Governor Buni allocates 300 hectares of land to NEPZA

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has allocated 300 hectares of land to the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Agency (NEPZA) to support its activities in the state.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, in Damaturu, the state capital, on Thursday.
Mr Buni presented the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and Right of Occupancy (R of O) to NEPZA’s executive director of trade and investment, Usman Bakori. He urged the agency to utilise the land judiciously.
“You should ensure efficient and speedy use of the land to enhance development.
“The government deliberately allocated the land to the agency close to the Cargo Airport to stimulate trade and business activities in the state,” he said.
Mr Buni said his administration would continue to support the agency and other partners to fast-track sustainable development in the state.
“You have a great role to play in promoting the export of agricultural produce, including sesame seeds, gum Arabic, livestock and other crops that are produced in great commercial quantities in the state.
“We look forward to seeing your presence and performance soon in the state,” Mr Buni said.
Responding, Mr Bakori commended the gesture and assured that development on the land would soon commence.
“The certificates have equipped us to hasten development on the land,” he said.
