‘Governor Aiyedatiwa working to put ‘right’ team together,’ aide hints on cabinet reshuffle

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is meeting with stakeholders as he plans to reshuffle the State Executive Council (SEC) members a few months before the state’s governorship election.
His spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan, disclosed this on a radio programme tagged “Guest of the Week” on Radio Nigeria (Positive FM, 102.5) in Akure.
Mr Adeniyan, who gave the hint on Monday, said the governor had started putting together a “good team”. He noted that members would be announced when the time is ripe to rejig the government.
“Mr Governor (Aiyedatiwa) will take his time putting his team together. He will not rush to do anything. He has a team that is already working to put the right team together,” said Mr Adeniyan.
He added, “He is meeting with stakeholders. And I can assure you that when the time is ripe, he will put the right team together.”
Mr Aiyedatiwa, who took over the reign of power after former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s death, had been facing intense pressure to rejig the cabinet members, especially those believed to be loyal to his former boss in the trenches.
Meanwhile, the governor’s spokesperson assured the state’s people that the present administration was committed to speeding up development in all sectors to enhance economic growth.
According to him, with the ongoing efforts to take the state to an enviable height, Ondo would soon be economically progressive, with many business investors trooping in.
“The governor is ready to speed up the development in the state. He is not disturbed at all. Although he has been having sleepless nights, it is about the development of the state,” he said.
