Gov. Yusuf orders rehabilitation of general hospital in Kano

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has directed the immediate rehabilitation of Sir. Sanusi General Hospital, Kano.
This is contained in a statement by his press secretary, Bature Dawakin-Tofa, in Kano on Saturday.
Mr Yusuf gave the order during a surprise assessment visit to the hospital.
He expressed dismay over the level of the dilapidated condition of the facility, promising that the renovation will commence in earnest to ensure that patients and health workers get the necessary enabling environment for quality healthcare delivery.
“I must tell you that what I have seen for myself is terrifying. I want to assure you that our administration will come to your aid immediately after this visit.
“I hereby direct the Ministry of Health and all agencies under its supervision to prepare for a general renovation of wards, nursing stations, toilets and theatre rooms,” he said.
The governor also directed the immediate employment of a casual community health worker, Malama Khadija Adam, whom he found at the facility supporting patients.
Mr Yusuf also delivered a humanitarian gesture to all patients on admission in the hospital, where they received N20,000 each as emergency relief.
