Gov. Sanwo-Olu urges Lagosians to celebrate growth, collective development

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged residents to continue giving thanks to God for their individual growth and the state’s collective development.
The governor made this statement at the 25th Annual Lagos State Thanksgiving Service, themed ‘Harvest of Thanksgiving’, held at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, on Sunday.
Mr Sanwo-Olu noted that 2024 witnessed significant developments and the implementation of tough policies by President Bola Tinubu, which are now yielding positive results.
“We have seen growth across sectors, which will continue in the new year, while the world has seen Nigeria in a more positive light, leading to increased foreign direct investments,” the governor stated.
He assured residents that his administration would continue collaborating with the federal government to ensure all citizens benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Mr Sanwo-Olu also pledged that the executive would work closely with the state legislature to provide reliable and affordable electricity across Lagos and ensure the smooth conduct of local government elections within the year.
The state’s commissioner for home affairs, Ibrahim Layode, also thanked participants and urged residents to prepare for their harvest of thanksgiving with diligence.
The event, featuring music, praise, worship, prayers, and Bible readings, was attended by the governor’s wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, state government officials, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and various religious leaders.
