Gov. Sani inaugurates Grand Khadi of Kaduna Sharia Court of Appeal

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, on Tuesday inaugurated Muhammed Danjuma as the new Grand Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal for the state.
In his speech at the ceremony, the governor pledged that his administration would work with anti-graft agencies to fight corruption in the state judiciary and civil service.
Mr Sani explained that the administration would check complaints from the grass-roots about the alleged untoward activities of the lower courts judges.
He tasked Mr Danjuma to strengthen discipline amongst the staff of the Sharia Court of Appeal, particularly the lower courts who are closer to the masses.
Mr Sani said, “I thank the National Judicial Council, for recommending the highly experienced legal practitioner and scholar of Islamic law, for appointment as the Grand Khadi. I am confident that the new Grand Khadi, Mohammed Aminu, will position the Sharia Court of Appeal and make it a true temple of justice for the citizens of Kaduna State.
“Our administration is committed to ensuring the rule of law and independence of the judiciary in Kaduna State. We shall continue to give the judiciary the support it needs to perform optimally and ensure access to justice for our citizens. However, to serve our people better and advance social justice, there must be synergy between the executive and the judiciary.’’
He said that people’s welfare and security were the primary purpose of the government, saying his administration would reinforce them.
Furthermore, Mr Sani urged the new Grand Khadi to discharge his constitutional mandate in accordance with the law, without fear or favour. Mr Danjuma promised to foster discipline in the Shariah justice system in Kaduna State.
