Gov. Radda donates N100 million to Maiduguri flood victims

Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina state has commiserated with the Borno government and its people over the recent flood in Maiduguri.
The governor also donated the sum of N100 million to the victims.
Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, the chief press secretary to the governor, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Katsina.
“Early this morning, Gov. Dikko Radda paid a solidarity visit to Maiduguri, to register his condolences and support for the victims of recent devastating floods.
“During the visit, the governor presented a cheque of N100 million to Prof. Babagana Zulum, the Executive Governor of Borno, as a support from the people of Katsina to those affected by the floods,” he said.
The chief press secretary quoted his principal as saying: “We are here to commiserate with government and people of Borno over the unfortunate flood incident which has severely impacted on social and economic activities of the state.
“This is one of the most serious disasters that has affected our country, and Borno in particular.
“We pray that the Almighty Allah will provide support, and we pray that such incident will never happen in any part of our country,” he prayed.
Responding, Mr Zulum, expressed profound gratitude to Mr Radda, and the entire people of Katsina State for the kind donation.
“This act of kindness in our time of need exemplifies the unity and brotherhood that exists among Nigerians.
“Your support will significantly aid our recovery efforts and bring relief to those affected by the floods,” Mr Zulum said.
Mr Radda was accompanied by a high-profiled delegation including the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruq, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahaya-Daura, and the chief of staff to the governor, Abdullahi Jabiru-Tsauri; among others.
