Gov. Ododo urges unity, compassion among Kogi residents during Ramadan

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has urged residents, especially the Muslims to embrace patience, sacrifice, and compassion for the less-privileged as they begin the 2925 Ramadan.
The governor gave this charge in his Ramadan message to the people of the state on Saturday in Lokoja.
Mr Ododo described Ramadan as a “sacred time” for reflecting on Allah’s goodness, deepening devotion, and practising self-discipline.
He said, “Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of patience, sacrifice, and generosity—values that strengthen faith and encourage compassion for those in need.’’
He urged the people of the state to love one another, embrace peace, and promote mutual respect to foster the state’s development, regardless of religious differences.
The governor encouraged residents to use Ramadan as an opportunity to strengthen unity and work together for the state’s continued progress.
He stated, “During this holy month, I encourage all residents of Kogi, regardless of faith, to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and mutual respect that Ramadan represents. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state.”
Mr Ododo also called on residents to show compassion to the less-privileged, uphold justice, and foster harmony within their communities.
He urged Muslims to dedicate the period to fervent prayers for peace, security, and development in the state and Nigeria.
