Gov. Mbah celebrates Jim Nwobodo at 86

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has eulogised former Governor Jim Nwobodo of Anambra on his 86th birthday, describing him as an uncommon icon whose legacy continues to impact generations.
Mr Mbah, in a post on his social media handles on Saturday, recalled Mr Nwobodo’s selfless service and numerous achievements as governor of old Anambra State, minister, and senator.
The governor noted that the elder statesman had “written his name in gold.”
He said, “There can indeed never be much anyone could say that will amply capture the real essence of what His Excellency, distinguished Senator Jim Nwobodo, represents.
“At 86, Senator Nwobodo’s life is an extraordinary odyssey — a timeless reminder that service can truly be a lifelong devotion.
“Today, we celebrate a man who has inspired generations. We celebrate a priceless gift to Enugu and humanity.”
Mr Mbah noted that although more than four decades had passed since Mr Nwobodo served as governor, his achievements as an astute administrator remained visible across the states that made up the old Anambra State, including Enugu, Anambra and parts of Ebonyi states.
“We are proud to note that we are today building on those legacies,” Mr Mbah added.
He conveyed congratulations on behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Enugu State, praying that God grant the former governor good health and peace of mind.
