Gov. Makinde swears in 48 permanent secretaries

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, on Monday, inaugurated 48 newly appointed permanent secretaries in the state civil/public service.
Speaking during the ceremony held at the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan, Mr Makinde charged the permanent secretaries to discharge their duties effectively and contribute their quota to development of the state.
He urged the new permanent secretaries to work hand in hand with his government to achieve its vision of sustainable development in the state.
The governor described the event as historic, adding that the process of their appointments was based on objectivity, merit and without any interference from anywhere.
According to him, the appointment of permanent secretaries in the education and local government sectors was done to encourage and motivate people working silently.
He congratulated the new permanent secretaries, and also appreciated the head of service, Olubunmi Oni, for handling the appointment processes diligently.
Highlight of the event was the taking of Oaths of Office and Allegiance by the newly appointed permanent secretaries.
