Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has awarded a N1 billion contract for the general rehabilitation of the Argungu General Hospital in the Argungu Local Government Area of the state.

“I have awarded the general rehabilitation of Argungu General Hospital, and the total contract sum is N1 billion,” Mr Idris announced at the flag-off for the construction of the 1km road in Argungu town on Tuesday.

He added, “The amount covers total rehabilitation N500 million, while procurement of modern equipment will also gulp another N500 million.”

Mr Idris lauded the national organising secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Suleiman Muhammad-Argungu, who facilitated the construction of the 1km road in Jarman Kabi road in Shagari Quarters of Argungu town.

He also urged all other elected and political office holders to emulate the organising secretary to influence projects and services that directly affect their people’s lives.

While appreciating the people of Argungu Emirate for their overwhelming reception whenever he visited the emirate, the governor assured that he had fulfilled over 80 per cent of his campaign promises to the Emirate Council.

Earlier, the national organising secretary appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his magnanimity in approving the project and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, for playing a significant role in facilitating the project.

He commended Mr Idris for establishing a primary school and junior secondary school in a community where there was none.

Mr Muhammad-Argungu also appreciated the governor for renovating the palace of the Emir of Argungu to be one of the best palaces in the Fulani emirates.

The Emir of Argungu, Sama’ila Muhammadu-Mera, commended the governor for facilitating the establishment of the Agric Processing Zone in Argungu.
