Gov. Fintiri flags off construction of N18.9 billion Yola international conference hall

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Thursday commissioned the construction of a N18.9 billion international conference hall and event centre in Yola.
Mr Fintiri said the project would open the state for investment and tourism whose multiplier effect would manifest in providing jobs for the youths and boosting the state’s internally generated revenue.
According to him, the centre will transform the state into a commercial hub and prompt development in surrounding towns and villages.
He said, “We are here today, to break the ground and formally flag-off the Construction of an ultramodern state-of-the-art International Conference and Events Centre in the heart of Yola. The centre, when fully constructed, will boast state-of-the-art facilities, galleries, mini halls, administrative offices, restaurant, tea-room, out-door sitting arrangements and uninterrupted power supply.’’
The state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Prambe, said the project has a 12-month completion period.
He assured that the project will meet international standards under the supervision of the ministry.
In his remarks, the Project Consultant, Sale Yunusa, said that the centre has a 1,000-capacity conference hall, 350 capacity auditorium, restaurants, catering shops, security outfit and CCTV cameras among others.
He assured of timely completion of the project.
