Gov. Eno appoints new HoS, sacks two aides

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has appointed Elsie Peters as the new Head of Service for the state, following the retirement of Effiong Essien from service.
The appointment is contained in a statement issued by the secretary to the state government, Enobong Uwah, in Uyo, and made available to journalists on Monday.
In another development, the governor relieved two of his aides of their positions, with immediate effect.
The affected aides included the senior special assistant to the governor on support services, Joseph Ikpak, and the special assistant to the governor on Neighbourhood Watch, Felix Ekuri.
Mr Uwah disclosed the disengagement of the aides in a separate statement.
According to him, the measure was part of the administration’s restructuring and alignment towards the success of the Renewed Hope and Arise Agenda of the state government.
