Gov. Buni inaugurates two health agencies in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe inaugurated the state Emergency Medical Ambulance Service, Healthcare Standard and Quality Regulation Agency on Saturday in Damaturu.
Mr Buni said the gesture was to enhance emergency medical service delivery and promote technical excellence in healthcare service through effective supervision.
He said the agency would support the provision of emergency medical treatment to all residents of the state.
He added it would address the missing link in the health sector, as reiterated by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
“The Healthcare Standard and Quality Regulation Agency will provide a legal framework for the continuous inspection, monitoring and regulations of both private and public health-related facilities in the state,” he added.
The governor appreciated the ultramodern office building, equipment and human resource plan put in place for the speedy take-off of the new agencies.
He mandated the state ministry of health to provide clear guidance and ensure a smooth take-off of the agencies.
Mr Buni expressed confidence that the policy initiative by his administration would have a significant impact on the well-being of the people.
He commended the Federal Ministry of Health and development partners for their continuous support and partnership with the Yobe government.
