The wife of Niger State Governor, Fatima Bago, has organised a three-day special Fidda’u prayer for the late Zainab Garba, wife of the state deputy governor.

The prayer session was held at the Justice Legbo Kutigi Conference Centre in Minna on Friday.

Mrs Garba died on Tuesday after a brief illness leaving behind her husband and two children.

Mrs Bago expressed sadness over the death of Garba, adding that her demise had thrown the state into a moment of grief.

“Her death came as a shock and we are saddened about it, we cannot question Allah, because He is the giver of life and He takes it when it pleases Him. We gathered here to pray for her soul for Allah to make the grave easy for her,” she said.

Mrs Bago called on the people of the state to continue to pray for the soul of the deceased, adding that her death should serve as a lesson to all that death was inevitable.

Prayers were offered by various popular Islamic clerics such as Malama Kadijat Zukogi, among others.
