Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger has commended President Bola Tinubu for signing the bill establishing the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) into law.

This is contained in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, in Minna on Thursday.

Mr Bago said that the establishment of the NCDC was a milestone that would drive sustainable rural development in the region, Niger State inclusive.

He said Mr Tinubu’s action was another testament to show that he was a leader interested in inclusive growth and development of the country.

The governor observed that the establishment of the NCDC would address its various pressing challenges, including infrastructure, security, and economic empowerment.

While expressing optimism that the NCDC would achieve its objective, the governor called for collaboration from all stakeholders in the region to ensure that the commission delivered on its mandates.

He also enjoined the people of the region to continue to support Mr Tinubu’s policies and programmes, saying they were geared towards the socio-economic development of the people.
