Gov. Alia promises prompt response to security challenges

Gov. Hyacinth Alia has promised the people of the state particularly those in Kwande and Ukum Local Government Areas of proactive and prompt response to security challenges.
Mr Alia made the promise in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, and made available to journalists on Saturday in Makurdi.
The governor appealed to those protesting over security challenges to remain calm as his administration was working relentlessly to restore enduring peace.
He expressed concern over the incessant attacks on Kwande and Ukum communities by assailants and wondered why the LGAs have been consistently attacked in spite of the relative peace recorded in other parts of the state.
Mr Alia assured the people that the activities of the assailants and their collaborators would soon become history.
“I share your pains, and I assure you that we will step up our response and prompt, too. The remorseless barbarism of these assailants and their sponsors will soon be a thing of the past.
Mr Alia sympathised with the victims of the recent attacks in Kwande and further called on security agencies to give the state their best.
The governor warned those who have been using his name to stir controversy in Kwande and other areas of the state to be wary of the potential consequences of their actions.
