Gov. Aiyedatiwa promises reliable electricity in every part of Ondo

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has promised that his administration is committed to providing sustainable and affordable electricity to various parts of the state through natural gas.
Mr Aiyedatiwa said his government had also been taking steps towards improving the electricity supply across the state by partnering private companies in the energy sector.
The governor spoke through his special adviser on power, Johnson Alabi, during an inspection tour of the Power Gas facility in Ore, headquarters of the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state, on Tuesday.
He explained that his government also remained resolute at ensuring energy development that supports economic growth and improved the quality of life for residents in the state.
“This administration is resolute in ensuring that every part of Ondo State has access to reliable power. We believe partnerships like this will be instrumental in achieving that goal,” Mr Aiyedatiwa said.
He stated that the visit was part of ongoing efforts by the administration to explore viable partnerships with private sector players, particularly in the area of deploying Independent Power Plants (IPPs) powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) turbines.
According to him, the project, currently being championed by the Ondo State Power Company Ltd (OSPCL), aims to bolster sustainable and affordable electricity to various parts of the state.
“Discussions from the visit are expected to pave the way for more detailed engagements between the state and Power Gas in the weeks ahead,” the governor said.
He, however, added that the vision was to create a coordinated and inclusive power sector framework that delivers real impact to communities and supports the state’s industrial ambitions.
