Gov. Aiyedatiwa makes first set of appointments, announces Fasoranti’s son as new SSG

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo has announced the appointment of Taiwo Fasoranti as the secretary to the state government (SSG).
The announcement comes minutes after Mr Aiyedatiwa took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Olaide Adelami, as the 7th democratically elected governor of the state.
Mr Fasoranti, a medical doctor, is the first son of Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation.
He replaced Tayo Oluwatuyi, the state’s former SSG, who died last year December following his involvement in a car accident.
Until his appointment, Mr Fasoranti, who hails from Akure South LGA, was the chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board.
In a press statement issued by his spokesperson, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Monday, Mr Aiyedatiwa also approved the reappointment of Kayode Ajulo as attorney general and commissioner for justice and Omowunmi Isaac as commissioner for finance, respectively.
The governor has also reappointed four special advisers; Johnson Alabi, (Power), Seun Osamaye (Women Affairs), Bola Taiwo (Union matters and special duties) and Simidele Odimayo (Health).
The statement also revealed that the senior special assistant to the governor on infrastructure, lands and housing, Abiola Olawoye, has been elevated to the position of special adviser, infrastructure, lands and housing.
It added that all the appointments take immediate effect.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the new appointees to hit the ground running in providing effective and efficient services to the people of Ondo State,” the statement read.
