Good Friday: Forgiveness, peace solution to Nigeria’s problems, Catholic Bishop says

The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Emmanuel Badejo, says forgiveness and peace are the solutions to Nigeria’s problems, urging Nigerians, including leaders in positions of authority to imitate the sacrifice of Christ.
Mr Badejo gave the advice in Ibadan as Christians celebrate Good Friday.
He called on the people in leadership positions, especially Christians, to emulate Jesus in his love, humility, service and generosity.
The Catholic bishop urged Nigerians always to imitate the spirit of forgiveness demonstrated by Jesus Christ and live in peace and harmony with one another.
“These are the only solutions to our world’s problems,” he added.
Badejo also remarked that Good Friday should call for sober reflection and repentance for all.
He said, “On Good Friday, Jesus laid it all down on the cross. He gave up His life, mother and forgiveness for us.”
The Catholic cleric explained that Jesus died “for all, his sacrifice obtained for us the immeasurable gift of resurrection and salvation, so that we can repay such goodness.”
